Okay...

That's all well and good. But will what I learn really work and be practical in my day to day at the clinic?

Definitely. Several Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) with over 10 years of experience who have completed their advanced pelvic residency training (APTA residency) have taken our latest course in Chicago. We have already received several emails saying that the knowledge and techniques learned and acquired during the course have transformed their practice. They were able to help patients who had reached a plateau to improve and break through with the new treatments taught during the course.

What do PTs say about the Masterclass - the four horsemen of pelvic pain?

Physical Therapists from Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the U.S. give their honest opinion on the Masterclass held in Chicago.

Great, PTs think it's useful. But what about patients?

Do the treatments and clinical reasoning taught actually work?

Our patient, Dr. James McDaniel, has a special background as an ankle and foot surgeon. Treating another colleague, another medical professional, is not easy. The treatment has to make sense and has to be very structured. This is what IPC offers. Structured clinical reasoning, fun and engaging treatments.

Instructor(s)

Di (Woody) Wu

Woody is a physical therapist specialized in male pelvic health. Currently he exclusively treats men suffering from pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction or ejaculatory disorders nationally and internationally. Before treating men, Woody started his pelvic PT training treating women and he realized the need to come up with a new approach for treating men because the psyche and the needs of that clientele were drastically different. Over a decade, he developed several new techniques and frameworks for treating men effectively. He now shares this groundbreaking approach with pelvic clinicians nationally and internationally through the integrated pelvic care (IPC) academy. He also use his knowledge as a past orthopedic surgeon and his research to build the IPC courses.

FAQ

  • I have never taken a pelvic floor course before. Can I register for the course?

You bet! At IPC, we follow the zero to hero philosophy. This means that even if you haven't had any pelvic floor training before, after taking the course you will be comfortable treating your male patients. In addition, our practical lab, which is included in the course will allow you to practice on real people, so when you see your first patient in the clinic you will already be comfortable.

  • Do I need to know how to treat women before men?

No! At IPC, we know that pelvic floor treatments in women versus men is very different because if we consider the anatomical, physiological and psychological aspects, there are big differences. Of course, there are some commonalities, but it’s different enough that it warrants a specific training specialized in male pelvic health in order to be able to learn how to treat male patients successfully. A simple analogy is to compare baking a pie to baking a cake. Just because you can bake a pie doesn't mean you can bake a cake and vice versa, although both acts are related to baking.

  • I already have a lot of experience in treating pelvic pain. Will this course be useful to me?

Yes, during our last course in Chicago, several physios had over 10 years of pelvic health experience and some even completed their APTA residency in pelvic floor (the highest level of continuing education for pelvic health), and the Masterclass still transformed their practice. The reason the Masterclass transformed their practice is because the information taught in the course is unique and based on the latest evidence.

  • When is the course?

    Saturday & Sunday May 6th, May 7th 2023 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m for both days.

  • Where is the course?

  • What's the policy for the course registration?

Refunds are possible up to 6 weeks before the course. A 10% administration fee is non-refundable at all times. Additional information will be sent by email within 2 weeks prior to the course. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Cancellations made more than 6 weeks before the course will result in a cancellation fee of 10% for administration costs. Cancellations after this period, i.e. between 3 and 6 weeks, will result in a penalty of 30%. Cancellation within 3 weeks of the course will not be reimbursed.

Your patients will be grateful for the new treatments you will have learned.

A testimonial from Matthew Henri, a patient who was treated using the IPC treatments & assessments.

My experience with Di Wu and the difference he has made in my health in a very short time is beyond my expectations. After seeing multiple physiotherapists and doctors for a hernia problem that was causing specific pain, numbness and discomfort in my back, lower abdomen and groin area, I was referred to Di Wu. From the first visit (in Laval, then Montreal), I was able to see the level of expertise and knowledge he has for the pelvic area by doing evaluations and tests that went far beyond what others had tried. Even in the first visit, he made me do exercises that almost immediately reduced my pain. Every visit since has brought noticeable improvement with new exercises, and a more thorough understanding of my issues each time. What I appreciate most is the knowledge he shares and how he helps you understand your body better so you can age in better health. His examples, explanations and analogies are very helpful and understanding what happened, what is currently happening and where you are ultimately going physically. The pain and discomfort related to my hernia is now 90% gone after only 4-5 visits, and I feel confident I now have the tools to manage things if I temporarily feel discomfort. As a 37 year old who values his health immensely, I was worried I may struggle with regaining my full health and mobility. However, I now feel I will age better thanks to the care I have received. I have even achieved something I have tried unsuccessfully for years to learn through meditation, yoga and other methods: how to breathe properly during exercises, in my everyday life and during anxious moments. His explanation of breathing and the effect it has on your body physically has allowed me to better understand the mind-body connection and apply breathing exercises. I can't recommend Di Wu enough if you have issues and have tried different options and are looking to receive the best expertise possible. You are rewarded with the efforts and patience you put in with these exercises, and rest assured, the tools you are given are invaluable.
